GloFFUC: Global Feminist Funk Underground Club
Imagine a group of feminists from all over the world, from global communities, meeting in an underground club deep in the center of the earth . . . This space is where they dance fiercely, to throw off the residue of their endless struggles to organize and push back against injustices, and to meditate on renewal. Inaugurated in 2019, ADT brings back GloFFUC to offer a space of resilience amidst these times of amplified injustice.
Join us as we gather in meditation and intentional dance to meet the moment. Facilitated by Ananya Chatterjea, Kealoha Ferreira & Noelle Awadallah, MC’d by Davente Gilreath, and guided by DJ Tybierius, we will cultivate a practice of joyful dance and embodied meditation that is invested in seeing and honoring the contexts of our resistance and survival.
Come experience intimacy and solidarity through intentional dance!

Swapnō Jhnāp: Dream Jumping
5 journeys, 5 portals, 5 medicines…
SWAPNŌ JHNĀP: DREAM JUMPING faces the ongoing chaos and escalating destruction of our Common Life by bringing connectivity and liberation out of the dream world and into reality. As the dancers travel through portals that cross time cycles and spacescapes, they integrate vital medicine and patchwork a methodology of dreaming that literally brings the desired world closer. We discover wisdom and connectivities inside the depths of oceanic grief, in the shared rhythms of a dance club, in the hatching of mythical creatures, in the rubble of war-torn landscapes, and inside quantum entanglements of movement and breath. Dancing together opens portals to the future, drawing on the feminist spiritual practice of quantum jumping.
Conceived and choreographed by Ananya Chatterjea, featuring the work of dramaturg/writer Dr. Nia O. Witherspoon (INYOSI Sebenzekhaya), composer Greg Schutte, stage director k.t. shorb, scenic designer Mina Kinukawa, costume designer Annie Cady, and lighting designer Kevin Jones.
Ananya Dance Theatre ensemble: Mariadela Belle Alvarez, Noelle Awadallah, Heaven Sha'Rae Calvert, Lizzette Chapa, Ananya Chatterjea, Kealoha Ferreira, Davente Gilreath, Juliet Irving, Zhané Jackson, Vy Nguyen.
This performance will run 90 minutes with no intermission. ASL interpretation on Friday, Sept. 19.

Dream Gathering
We invite our community members to join us for Dream Gatherings, rituals of coming together at the brink of the birth of a new, just world.
You are invited to wear comfortable clothes that you can move in (should you choose), to bring one or two found objects that speak to your connection with the natural world, and to arrive with open hearts. Together, we will create altars to our thriving and shared vibration.

2025 Summer Intensive: Dream Dancing
dance as a dream practice. dream as a dance practice.
Build physical strength, emotional stamina, and transnational solidarities through daily movement practice.
Ananya Dance Theatre offers our once-annual intensive training in our distinctive movement aesthetic, Yorchhā™, and choreographic practice, Shawngrām. The Intensive cohort meets every weekday for one week. Each meeting will begin with instruction in Yorchhā. Whether this is your first experience with Yorchhā or you have been practicing for multiple summers, we will meet you where you are, opening paths towards your individual excellence. After a brief break, the daily focus will shift to structured improvisational and choreographic processes. At the end of the week, you will be a part of a choreographic offering in front of a community audience.

ANTARANGA: BETWEEN YOU AND ME
$5 - $50
The approximate run time of the event is 80 minutes with no intermission.
ANTARANGA: BETWEEN YOU AND ME is set in a world in deep crisis, where most people have lost their ability to sense the energy of other human beings and can no longer recognize or connect with each other. A few humsafar (“fellow travelers” in Urdu) remain, blessed with super-connecting and heart-opening powers. As they undertake perilous journeys, they forge connectivities that may yet heal the world. ANTARANGA is the first work in a duology, and explores themes of intimacy, connection, trust, and community among BIPOC women/femmes. Ananya Dance Theatre’s ensemble of BIPOC women/femme dance artists will celebrate its 20th season in 2025, with the second and final work in this series.
