Join us at Open Rehearsal for an informal showing of our current work as it comes into being!
This year's work, Prem | Love: an Occupation, offers a hyperlocal focus on current events in the Twin Cities, in particular, its history of peaceful and resolute resistance. Drawing inspiration from Marcellus Khalifa Williams' poem: "There is so much beauty and comfort in being in love and just being,” Chatterjea’s approach is grounded in the songs of Baul mystic-minstrels of Bengal which remind us that we cannot be content in interpersonal love if we do not live as Lovers of Life-Force. Prem moves as a visceral and kinesthetic journey through grief and resistance that arrives at connective solidarity strengthened in softness.
