This two-part Art + Water Workshop series with the Capitol Region Watershed District explores the ways water and love of public places intersect. Inspired by Ananya Dance Theatre’s summer of projects centered on the notion of public love, we will carry stories of water into this practice together.
This first session (July 23) begins with a movement meditation led by Ananya Chatterjea, then moves into collage-making. Led by Jay Claire, we will assemble a communal collaged River Tapestry as we consider the ripple effects of our own stories and actions of love for water.
No dance or musical experience is needed! All ages are welcome! Light snacks provided. All activities are designed to meet people where they are. Attending both workshops is encouraged but not required.
Art + Water Workshops are organized by CRWD Artist-in-Residence Sarah Peters and CRWD Community Engagement Coordinator Maricella Xiong, in collaboration with community partners such as ADT.
