Life-forms flicker in and out in the circuitous streets and despair-laden corners of the Broken City. Who were the folks who danced all night at the Global Feminist Funk Underground Club, now haunted and empty? Who were the people who lived their lives fully here before they disappeared? How did they labor? Love?

The artists of Ananya Dance Theatre unravel time and unwritten histories in Sutrajāl as a poet, one of the few surviving humans in this place, bears witness.

Imagined and choreographed by Ananya Chatterjea in collaboration with the artists of ADT with the support of guest artists Tish Jones and Douglas Ewart, guest dramaturg Sharon Bridgforth, and Stage Director Marcus Young.

Sound design and score composition by Renée Copeland. Lighting design by Kevin A. Jones. Costume design by Annie Cady. Scenery design by Chelsea Warren.

We have a special pricing system for this production. To better provide for equity and inclusion in our seating, your seat location is not determined by the price you pay.

You decide how much to pay for your ticket ($32, $26, or $19) and the system will assign the best seat available at that price. There are tickets at all price levels throughout the theater, so the relative quality of the seat will be determined more by how early you purchase your ticket than by what you choose to pay. A production of this scale always costs more than ticket sales alone can cover, so we ask you to consider purchasing your tickets at the highest price you feel comfortable paying.
