Event postponed to 2020: Decolonizing Public Art PART II: From Puerto Rico To Mauna Kea
December 12, 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Due to overwhelming demand and space limitations, this event has been postponed until 2020. Stay tuned to Forecast Public Art website and Facebook page for re-scheduling.
Forecast Public Art and Ananya Dance Theatre’s Shawngram Institute for Performance & Social Justice co-host the last Forecast/Forward series event of 2019.
At this second part of the two-part conversation on decolonizing public art, we center performance art, visual art and cultural organizing. Artists Kealoha Ferreira and Olivia Levins Holden will explore how artists are standing up and fighting back against colonization, from Puerto Rico to Mauna Kea, and how this impacts the future of public art in the U.S.
The discussion will be facilitated by Candida Gonzalez.
