FreeAnanya Dance Theatre and the Shawngram Institute for Performance & Social Justice present Onurawnon/Vibration, performances of choreography by Toan Thanh Doan and Brotherhood Dance/Orlando Zane Hunter, Jr. & Ricarrdo Valentine.
We Were Born Soft | Choreographed & performed by Toan Thanh Doan | Music: Cai Duyen | Composer: Ngo Hong Quang
The piece explores the search for softness in a world that abandons human vulnerability. Here, we are pushed to the edge of hardness, shielding ourselves from the forces of pain and norms. This dance is a statement of grounding in radical softness: “I would rather fear than feel nothing.”
