“Tracing Hmong Aesthetics”: A dialogue between Koua Mai Yang /Dej Txiaj Tsim Yaj, Laichee Dorothy, and Magnolia Yang Sao Yia about Hmong aesthetics.
The artists will reflect on and unravel the ethics and implications in the production, representation, and consumption of Hmong art.
By centering Hmong ways of knowing and processing, Koua/Dej, Laichee, and Magnolia are interested in engaging other Hmong artists and the Hmong community about our Hmong experiences as a crucial site for imagining Hmong aesthetics and an ethics that is rooted in social justice.
