Michhil Processional #3: Water Walk with Sharon Day

June 30, 2023 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

WHAT: The third of 5 intentional, thematically structured processions, designed to reveal the potential of movement as an organizing methodology. Imagined as vital gathering points for our Twin Cities BIPOC, Queer, Dalit, and other marginalized communities.
We will uphold the long-term work of Indigenous leader Sharon Day, who has led many communities in Nibi walks, where we promise to honor our life-affirming relationship with the waters that flow through these lands, and to care for the water every day.
WHEN: June 30, 2023, from 6:00pm – 7:30pm CT.
WHERE: We will gather at the Stone Arch Bridge on the east side of the river (Father Hennepin Park near the bathrooms).
We will process together across the Stone Arch Bridge, offering tobacco, song and dance to the river midway, and culminating in a final offering to the waters at the west side of the bridge in the small field next above Mill Ruins Park.
HOW: Please register here: bit.ly/3oMh7uQ
