Annielille (Ani) Gavino
Annielille Gavino (she/they/siya) is a Filipinx, multidisciplinary movement-based storyteller, dance maker, and cultural worker. Ani uses dance, film, and literature as vessels for inscription, community engagement, resistance, and spiritual journeys. Her work has been supported by The MAP Fund, Leeway Foundation, Scribe Film, National Performance Network, Velocity Fund, Small But Mighty Arts, Painted Bride, and others. Since immigrating to the United States, She has danced with Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Kun Yang- Lin/Dancers, and directs her multidisciplinary project-based company Ani/MalayaWorks. Ani received her MFA in Dance from Hollins University, writes for thINKing Dance, and is an adjunct professor at Drexel University. This is her first season with Ananya Dance Theatre, and she feels honored to be a student and dancer of such legacy work.
