Jessica Briggs,
Program Manager

Jessica Briggs has been a professional dancer and art administrator for nearly 15 years. After receiving her B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Minnesota in 2008, she began working for Ananya Dance Theatre part-time as an independent contractor. Jessica is also an working artist and dance scholar.  She has presented her work in both choreography and dance theory at the Lowry Lab Theater (2008), CORD Conference (2008), 9×22 Dance Lab (2009), UCLA Dance Under Construction Conference (2009), part of Time Track Production’s Isolated Acts series at the Red Eye Theater (2010), and co-presenting Tidal Tendencies with Nicholas LeMere, opening this September (2011).   Preparing for Graduate School, Jessica feels passionate about the intersection of dance, politics and the greater affect they can have on communities. She believes that dance can play a critical role in social justice and is honored to be able to work  so closely to Ananya and her amazing company.
