A three-week summer dance intensive with ADT at the University of Minnesota • June 23 - July 11

Ananya Chatterjea and company members from Ananya Dance Theatre will teach daily technique class in the style of Yorchha, the company’s signature movement vocabulary combining elements from yoga, the classical Indian dance form Odishi, and the martial art form Chhau, and set exciting repertory on intensive participants. A public showing will conclude the intensive on Friday, July 11, at 2pm.

This three week residency will run June 23 – July 11, 2014, Monday through Friday (no class July 4), at the Barbara Barker Center for Dance, 500 21st Avenue South, Minneapolis:

  • 12 pm – 1:30 pm: Technique training in Yorchha, ADT’s style of contemporary Indian dance.
  • 1:40 pm – 3 pm: Repertory and Performance Training
  • Informal Showing: Friday, July 11, 2pm

Registration: This intensive is open to anyone 16 years of age or older. University of Minnesota degree-seeking students must register for the course through One Stop Registration. Information for non-degree seeking student registration is online at http://onestop.umn.edu/non-degree/index.html.

Please Note: There are two sections for this Summer Intensive. Section 1 is open to anyone 16 years of age and older, no audition required. Section 2 is open to Dance Majors from any college or university (or by audition/instructor consent).
